PLATELET RICH PLASMA (PRP)

SERVING THE WASHINGTON & ST. GEORGE, UT AREA

Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation

Facial rejuvenation patients in St. George, UT who wish to refresh and renew their face without having to undergo cosmetic surgery can now use their own blood (platelets). Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, a safe and advanced therapy is now offered by Riverside Medical Arts to help our patients restore a more youthful vibrancy to their skin

WHAT IS PLATELET RICH PLASMA (PRP) THERAPY?

PRP is an effective treatment that uses scientific technology to process your own blood. The PRP process takes a small amount of your blood which is then placed in a centrifuge to separate the various components in your blood. The red and white blood cells are divided and plasma cells are isolated producing platelet rich plasma (PRP).

Once the enriched plasma is injected back into the targeted facial areas, your body naturally releases growth healing proteins, which promotes collagen to naturally smooth out your skin. Through the promotion of your body’s collagen, tissue is regenerated and a smoother, more firm skin texture is achieved.

PRP therapy has been used by many medical specialists including pain management doctors and orthopedists to aid in healing injuries.

Often referred to as dermatitis by dermatologists, eczema can result from both genetic and environmental causes. Plants, metals, chemicals, clothing and other external forces can all lead to skin irritation and ultimately eczema. Poison ivy, diaper rash and dandruff are all different forms of dermatitis. Other names for eczema include atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, irritant dermatitis nummular dermatitis and seborrheic dermatitis. In order to effectively treat eczema, an investigation into the cause is can be an important part of the evaluation by your dermatologist and may require more specialized testing.

Treatment includes avoiding environmental triggers (if possible), restoring the barrier function of the skin and reducing inflammation. Topical steroids are an important consideration in the treatment of many forms of eczema.
